Located at the High-tech Industrial Park in Nanshan, the new-look office features an open-space layout with elements of greenery. The office has a spacious, 12-people-capacity meeting room. Big windows let natural daylight in, and the green plants bring a touch of mother nature to an improved, more comfortable working environment. The new-look office represents ASTRI’s commitment to driving innovation and excellence in applied science and technology in this region. Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Advanced Electronic Components and Systems; Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies; Communications Technologies; IoT Sensing and AI Technologies; and Intelligent Perception and Control Technologies. It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits and Metaverse.
