Co Fung Ho Kwan, Senior Engineer, TAIT
Co Fung is the senior engineer in the computational linguistics Intelligence in the Trust and AI Technologies team. Her work in ASTRI is about quality assurance, but will also involve in building database, language-related data analysis and project management. After graduating from university, she joined ASTRI as an intern.
Q. What are your motivations for getting into this field of research?
Using technology to help society and promote the application of linguistics in technology are my biggest motivation to enter this research field. Technology can improve the quality of life and bring people closer together, which is very meaningful.
Q. What do you have to say to young girls who want to pursue a career in I&T?
Nowadays, society pays more and more attention to the concept of equality between men and women, don’t worry, as long as you have the determination and strength, this industry will definitely give you rewards.
Q. How to stay relevant in the tech industry?
Be inquisitive and sensitive to everything, especially new technology, you never know what new ideas will pop into your head.
Q. What is your biggest achievement to date?
Outside of work accomplishments, I am proud of being a competent daughter, taking good care of my mother and repaying her for her upbringing. I believe that this is what every son and daughter want to do most.
Q. What are your favourite pastimes outside of work?
Photography and hiking.
