ASTRI’s CTO Dr. Meikei Ieong, Senior Director (IC Design Analog) Mr. Bill Zhang, and Director Mr. Dennis Lee visited Macau on Aug 1 to gain a better understanding of the government’s digitisation progress, smart city initiatives and technology development.
The Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau of Macao SAR introduced to them the government’s development of e-governance, including digitisation of administrative processes and development of public e-services, and had a discussion on potential cooperation in the field of cyber security.
The delegates also visited the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI and the Thomson Reuters Trading Room, as well as learning about the FinTech Internship Programme at the University of Macau. They also discussed the regional smart city development with the Macau’s Science and Technology Development Fund’s Committee Members.

Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research.
