Hong Kong Police Force
To enhance the safety of detainees, we are about to collaborate with the Hong Kong Police to develop a mood status alert system that assesses their stress level by continuously monitoring individual physiological signals and motion data using custom wristbands as well as analyzing the surveillance video stream by trained Deep Learning machine.
Before assigning a lockable BLE wristband to a detainee, the duty officer will initialize it with personal data like age, gender, BMI and smoking habit using a screening mobile app. During the detention period, the persons under custody are required to wear the BLE wristbands equipped with various sensors like heart rate, skin conductance, skin temperature and motion. The individual physiological signals and motion data will be captured by BLE gateways installed inside detention cells. To get alert decision accurate, a data fusion algorithm will be devised to process the credibility of diverse data streams ranging from physiological signals, motion data to surveillance video data.
The developed mood status alert system will enhance the safety of persons under the police’s custody. Also, the technology could be applied with minimal modification to other use cases such as homes for the elderly, children with Special Educational Needs and hospitals.
