Description:

This project focuses on the development of core technologies for paper document management, improving the recognition rate of handwritten Chinese character image during the conversion of scanned image to searchable electronic text,. The main areas include (1) Reconstruction algorithm of scanned image to stroke drawing vector, which can be inputted to online handwriting recognition engine, (2) Classification algorithm for English and Chinese image, (3) Adaptive learning algorithm to enhance accuracy with more samples and form specific information. In addition, we will develop a prototyping system for demonstrating form processing supporting handwritten Chinese. Upon completion of this seed project, the project team will initiate a full project or ICP project in 2016. The project is to develop a form management system with support of handwritten Chinese. This idea has already attracted strong interest from various solution providers such as Computer & Technologies Holding Ltd, Welltronics solution group.
