ASTRI showcases Smart Parking System at Smart City Week – Smart City Exhibition

ASTRI is invited to participate in the Smart City Week – Smart City Exhibition held from 7 to 11 November 2016 at Energizing Kowloon East Office (EKEO).

To support the HKSAR Government strategy in transforming Hong Kong into a Smart City, ASTRI has been working with the Energizing Kowloon East Office (EKEO) and Lands Department to develop the Smart Parking System to collect the carpark information including real-time parking vacancy data so as to facilitate drivers to find vacant parking spaces in this area. The mobile app of this system provides analysis function of the shortest driving route and real time traffic information, enabling drivers to reach the entrance of available carpark which help to reduce traffic congestion and pollution. The system will be piloted in the carparks in Kowloon East and is being displayed at the exhibition.

Organised by EKEO, the exhibition belongs to stage 1 public engagement of feasibility study for developing Kowloon East into a smart city district. The event aims to collect views from the public on the proposed framework and advocacy statement. It also solicits ideas for Proof of Concept (PoC) trails and planning of future smart city proposals.
