Hong Kong Police Force
The project aims to develop a visual content search platform with transfer learning for Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF). Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) have produced over hundreds of thousands of media files to enhance the communication with the public since year 2012. During some of HKPF's operations, the PPRB needs to extract the relevant information from those archived media files which require human inspection in order to get valuable insights. This process costs a lot of resources in terms of labour and time. The Social Media Communication division of Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) in HKPF, would like to increase its capacity and efficiency. By using this Visual Content Search Platform, it aims to increase the capacity and efficiency of Police Public Relations Branch in the future. HKPF will provide media data for machine learning. The project team will build and train an artificial intelligence model using the Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) in order to locate the object classes and using the extracted object feature descriptors to locate the exact object. A pilot run trial will be deployed to PPRB.
