Low frequency acoustic sensing is an emerging technology to explore the condition inside a non-transparent solid sample which would be almost impossible for common techniques like optical techniques. Besides, IoT integration is highly compatible with the small size, cost effective features of low frequency acoustic sensors. In this project, we will develop a multi-vector low frequency acoustic IoT sensor array, in particular we will apply this technology to the inspection of tree’s internal conditions. Currently, the conventional technology used in inspections of tree’s internal conditions must be on-site and manual, the inspections turn out to be infrequent and require much manpower. We want to address this problem by developing acoustic IoT sensors for automatic, continuous and real time monitoring of tree’s internal conditions (TeleHealth of Trees). By doing this we can early detect tree’s health problem and prevent tree collapse.
