This project aims to develop a C-V2X traffic simulation and planning platform to plan the future C-V2X infrastructure deployment. The main targets include: 1. Provide the V2X infrastructure deployment simulation before the real deployment, quantify the relationship between cost and benefit of the C-V2X infrastructure deployment, and link it with actual benefits. 2. Provide V2X application validation, validate V2X use cases algorithm in different traffic environments before V2X infrastructure really deployed, also provide the simulated V2X environment for the new V2X applications (Connected Autonomous Vehicles, Automated Valet Parking, etc.) 3. Provide smart mobility infrastructure planning, plan future transportation schemes, and V2X infrastructure deployment. This project will support Hong Kong's C-V2X deployment, which is one of the key elements in the Smart Mobility of Hong Kong Government Smart City Blueprint. The outcome of this project will also benefit the End Users like the HK Government department (Transport, Lands, Highway, OGCIO, etc.), HKSTP, HKIA, Road Operators, etc., and the local industry like V2X chipset vendors, car manufacturers, etc.
