There are many cyber-attacks on IoT network happening with serious impacts. Traditional Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) are not suitable for IoT edge with limited resources. This project aims to design and create generic IoT IDS/IPS architecture, which comprises adaptive optimisation algorithms and prototypes of IDS/IPS devices. The adaptive optimisation algorithms make use of machine learning to optimise IDS/IPS specification selection to IoT edge. An IoT sandbox infrastructure will be built for secure development and testing. This is a Government Initiated Project supported by Electrical & Mechanical Services Department (EMSD). A trial run will be conducted on EMSD Government-Wide IoT Network(GWIN) for testing.
