This project aims to design and implement the Distributed 5G Core Artificial Intelligence (AI) Infrastructure for supporting AI/Machine Learning (ML) operation in 5G and beyond core network, which includes: - The Network Data Analytics Function (NWDAF) - 5G data collection from other 5G network functions - 5G AI analytic data to other 5G network functions - Distributed architecture This project boosts 5G and beyond core network intelligence and automation, optimizing performance while enhancing user experience, and enables the rollout of cutting-edge Smart City AI services like Vehicle-to-everything, autonomous vehicles and remote healthcare that demand high bandwidth, low latency, and real-time AI data processing. Furthermore, this AI infrastructure spurs innovation and collaboration across multiple industries, driving the growth of both the AI and 5G ecosystems.

Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research.
