Job Description
Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research.
ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Advanced Electronic Components and Systems; Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies; Communications Technologies; IoT Sensing and AI Technologies; and Intelligent Perception and Control Technologies. It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits and Metaverse.
Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. ASTRI has transferred about 1,600 technologies to the industry and has been granted close to 1,200 patents in the Chinese Mainland, the United States, and other countries.
Job Responsibilities
Programme Details
The FinTech Future Leader Academy by ASTRI is an 8-week comprehensive internship programme between June and August 2026, with supports from ASTRI’s FinTech team.
Through this programme, you will learn the principles of FinTech, get hands-on experience in handling real-world FinTech projects, and gain exposure to some major FinTech institutions in Hong Kong. Also, the programme offers:
- On-the-job training and assignments with ASTRI’s FinTech team
- Experience of participating in FinTech projects
- Field visits to a variety of prestigious financial and technology services companies
- Mentoring support and guidance from ASTRI
Requirements
- Undergraduate and Postgraduate STEM students (i.e. Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or Business & Finance students on track to graduate in 2027, 2028, or 2029
- Aspiring to be tech-enablers for the financial services industry
- Able to create innovative solutions from the applied technology point of view
- Creative, open-minded, visionary, and interested in FinTech
- Fluent in written and spoken English
