移动WiMAX的发展正在给移动宽带无线接入技术创造新的市场机遇。移动WiMAX技术提供基於IP的无线接入应用服务,使终端用户体验到高移动性能的全IP语音、数据以及多媒体的集成业务,具备服务质量(QoS)、高安全性、用户容量可扩展性等特徵,更重要的是可实现移动状态下的无缝切换。 在移动WiMAX系统架构中,接入网网关(ASN-GW) 充当至关重要的角色,尤其是在实现无缝移动性方面。 在目前阶段,本土及中国内地厂商诸如京信通讯、ALTAI科技以及北京烽火通信等一些企业正致力於WiMAX基站(BTS) 产品的开发。为了满足移动性与市场需求,这些基站产品都需要与ASN-GW协作以实现真正意义上的无线移动WiMAX 系统。这对於它们取得商业上的成功是非常重要的,因为运营商为了避免由兼容性与产品支持等问题所带来的风险,只会购买整合的系统方案,其中包括ASN-GW、BTS和管理系统,而不是独立的基站。在BTS厂商用一到两年时间完成了产品的开发之後,考虑到市场和关键技术的因素,它们将在未来1-2年时非常需要一个具有良好的扩张性和低成本优势,不仅支持标準功能又能根据具体产品灵活定制的ASN-GW平臺。 应科院的ASN-GW平臺有两大特点: (1) 快速定制以支持多厂商/多型号的基站; (2) 混合型无线资源控制器(RRC)架构以增强RRC性能。 这样的ASN-GW平臺可帮助本土及内地中小型厂商与它们的基站进行整合,现实一个完整的无线WiMAX系统解决方案。可是由於市场和技术方面的原因,目前还没有出现合适的针对本土与内地厂商的ASN-GW平臺解决方案,这对应科院却是一个很好的市场机会。 事实上, 香港的Altai Technologies都表现出强烈的兴趣并与应科院签订了意向书和提供10%研发赞助,此外,我们还与京信通讯公司与Proxim公司就ASN-GW开发所涉及的软件、硬件平臺的合作事宜上进行了积极讨论。 我们所开发的Gateway技术不仅可以抓住移动WiMAX 的市场机遇,还可以用於将来的4G标準,譬如3GPP-LTE与3GPP2-UMB,将有助於增强香港在全球範围内先进无线技术开发方面的地位。
