据香港政府统计处估计, 30年後, 超过1/3的香港人口会是 65岁或以上。人口老化成为了21世纪其中一个在健康、社会和经济方面上, 最大而世界性的挑战, 而与年龄有关的或病理性的(如阿尔茨海默氏病)认知能力下降便是其中主要关注的问题。 如能及时发现, 诊断和介入与认知障碍的持续性评估, 巨大的医疗负担便可大大缓解。 我们的目标是开发一个系统, 以促进筛查和及早发现香港老人认知健康的问题及照顾者的压力水平。 目的是协助采用更科学的方法, 与生理数据同步进行专业的认知评估。 兼之, 促进认知功能障碍的早期检测和其连续监测的发展, 以及改善香港老人对认知测试的感受。 在此项目中,我们的目标是开发一个系统, 透过活动,压力,专注力和情绪的检测,有助对使用者认知健康的评估。
