中国自主的音视频编码及解码标準在中国电子业界和团体的广泛支持和推动下在2002年6月成立AVS產业联盟，并得到中国信產部全力支持。AVS產业联盟负责推动AVS音视频标準的制定和多媒体產业链相关產品之推广。AVS用於数码电视的发展迅速，它為推动实现2008年奥运会高清数码电视广播迈出一大步，漫长的数码化电视制式进程中创造巨大商机，產品如数码电视转换器，流动数码电视，机顶盒等等可享受未来多年的高速市场发展和增长。ASTRI ECE Group将尽力為发展AVS音视频解码标準 (FPGA IP)解决方案作出供献，尤其在可能為最终标準X-Profile而出力参与发展。这项目将提供一完整AVS解决方案，它包括先进科技研究，运算和架构设计, 软件模拟器(C Model, Golden Model and Performance Model)，硬件FPGA RTL code，测试标準用的测试软件，运作系统，推动软件和开发平台。再加上ECE Group其它KTI所发展的应用系统的配合而达至全面解决方案。
