Launched on 11 November 2016, the HKMA-ASTRI FinTech Innovation Hub (The Hub) is intended to be a neutral ground of the FinTech industry, a place where various stakeholders can collaborate to innovate.
Located at ASTRI’s premises in Hong Kong Science Park, the Hub is supported by the institute’s technical teams and uses its hardware and software IT infrastructure. The Hub has around 200 virtual workstations connected in a segregated network segment, which can be expanded further if needed. Together with the different types of hybrid cloud computing configurations available at ASTRI, the Hub is equipped to emulate, compare and analyse different financial services and products. Virtual private networks can also be set up to connect the Hub with up to 30 external innovation facilities or developer laboratories in Hong Kong and overseas.
This well-furnished FinTech Innovation Hub consists of:
- A brainstorming zone with a cozy coffee lounge to facilitate open discussion;
- A demo room that can concurrently display two sets of demonstrations of prototype(s) or solution(s); and
- A co-working room with a maximum capacity of 12 people for meetings and/or incubating ideas.
