The Mobile and IoT Platforms team specialises in developing enabling technologies and total system solutions to realise the potential of mobile applications and Internet of Things (IoT).
One of our main focuses is developing technologies to tackle the scalability problem of IoT systems for large scale deployment. The client-server architecture should be able to accommodate tremendous amount of network traffic triggered by millions of devices and mobile users, and at the same time function cohesively with the cloud resources, scaling horizontally instead of vertically. In addition, the team also works on the proximity, geographic information and real time telemetric related technologies such as position locating, map rendering, sensors data processing, etc..
Another main focus is developing rapid software development methodologies for various mobile platforms with different OS, different development languages (e.g. Java, Objective C, C#, etc.), and different application programming interfaces.
Our solutions simplify the flow of system and software development on mobile platforms and cloud servers for a wide variety of application scenarios, helping engineers and product designers reduce development effort and cost.
