本专案的目标是针对快速发展的宽带和多媒体消费电子市场开发一款通用的iShare家庭媒体中心平臺。本媒体中心平臺基於已开发的家庭媒体中心技术模组，扩展到一个嵌入式的，多样化的，多对多的和内容分佈共用的传输平臺。此平臺支援在具有H.264视频编解码和网路技术的性价比高的嵌入式系统上的位移和时移观看功能。它定位於克服在利用互联网作为向大众进行视频内容广播的技术所存在的问题和挑战。本专案的目标是利用现存的互联网架构和消费者电子设备组建TV/媒体-“任意位置”平臺，并且把即时或者已存储的视频内容在任意时间传递到任意地方的电视收看用户和互联网用户。
