LTE-AGW Development ------------------------------- Phase A1A – Research and Specifications of LTEAGW Purpose: to research the LTE standards specifications with focus on LTE access network and it entities and to define the detailed system requirement specifications for LTEAGW. LTE(长期演进)定义了未来4G无线通信标準,提供基於IP的服务,并能保證服务质量(QoS)及无缝移动。除了为UE和eNodeB定义的空中接口外,3GPP在规範中还定义了接入网的架构。 LTE还提出了高数据吞吐率和用户容量的要求(例如,每个基站可提供100Mbps和支持数百个用户)。可以预计每个用户所占用的数据带宽增加的同时,服务计划将能提供更低的每MB收费甚至为高用量用户提供包月收费。 现有的用於部署3G/HSPA数据业务的网络架构有很多问题,无法迁移到LTE: • 包含很多网元的複杂架构,带来很高的网络成本和网络延时; • 有限的吞吐率; • 扩展成本高。 因此,3GPP标準提出了演进分组系统(EPS),包含了LTE的演进接入网架构。 LTE技术的发展给中型技术公司带来了很多机会。不少中型公司已经有了LTE基站(eNodeB)的开发计划, 与其 LTE的基地台宏(称为 eNodeB的),他们可以发展为规模较小的基站,微微蜂窝 / femotcell解决利基市场。然而对他们来说,要赢得竞争并且卖给第二层LTE网络运营商,必须提供低成本且完整的演进分组系统,包括eNodeB,接入网网元和网络管理系统。中型公司有很多优势,如成本优势,在市场上有很大的潜力。 该项目旨在帮助这些中等规模公司,通过提供本项目开发产品的许可證,让他们可以快速开发出他们自己的LTE EPS解决方案。本项目成果将包括具成本效益的可扩展的控制平面,数据平面和管理平面的LTE接入网设备软件的。这将大大降低购买许可者的研发成本、研发风险和销售的资本支出。 项目团队从CWMS和WiMAX ASN-GW项目积累而来的经验、知识和框架为项目提供了坚实的基础。同时,已经获得了WiMAX ASN-GW的许可證的一家香港上市公司,正在与项目团队密切磋商购买所开发技术的许可證。
