3D experience is getting better with the improving technology in autostereoscopic (glasses-free 3D) display. Viewers can enjoy stunning and comfortable 3D on the state-of-the-art autostereoscopic display, without wearing 3D glasses. The latest breakthrough of 2D/3D switchable autostereoscopic display can potentially accelerate the penetration of glasses-free 3D TV in consumer market. However, the lack of 3D content generation for glasses-free 3D display makes the 3D display usage remain low. In this project, we are going to develop the 3D conversion technologies in order to generate 3D contents for different kinds of glasses-free 3D displays. The technologies include image processing algorithms, FPGA implementation and hardware boards. The target markets are advertising, consumer displays and movie production.

随著裸眼3D自动转换成像技术的发展,3D体验效果也变得越来越好。观众无需佩戴3D眼镜,就可以舒适地体验到超震撼的3D显示效果。2D自动转换3D成像显示技术的突破也加速了3D裸眼电视在消费者市场中的渗透。然而由於裸眼3D显示中的片源缺乏使得裸眼3D电视的使用率还较低。 为了提供更多的3D片源,本项目针对不衕的裸眼3D显示,研究了2D片源转换成3D片源技术。此研究技术包括图像处理算法,FPGA实现和硬件电路实现叁部分。产品可用于广告片,消费品展示和影视产品。
