    近年來有關食品安全和質量的標準提昇﹐消費者的期許亦水漲船高﹐從而令食品生產企業的利潤空間受到擠壓。為此﹐市場呼喚小型食品檢測器用於食物安全的現場預檢及食物生產的質量控制。拉曼光譜技術可直接測定化學組分的特徵譜圖而毋需(或僅需少量) 樣品預處理﹐其已被廣泛用於食物安全和質量的檢測﹐如農藥殘留的預檢和釀酒過程的監控等。但一直以來上述應用所使用的拉曼光譜儀必須是體積龐大價格不菲的高端設備﹐否則無法同時滿足應用所需的光譜範圍 ﹐光譜分辨率﹐和高通光效率。 本項目建議開發一種價格適中的便攜式拉曼光譜設備用於食物安全和質量的檢測﹐而核心技術在於其采用不同的光學設計如空間外差光譜儀(SHS)和多頻光源芯片集成技等去實現食品檢測的須求。首先﹐與傳統的色散型光譜儀相比﹐空間外差光譜儀具有高通光效率和高光譜分辨率的優點。再者﹐我們將透過不同的光學設計如全反射式的空間外差光譜儀(all reflective SHS), 和通過芯片集成技術附加多頻光源, 來實現不同食品安全和質量檢測應用所須的光譜範圍和降低產品成本。
