3D experience is getting better with the improving technology in autostereoscopic (glasses-free 3D) display. Viewers can enjoy stunning and comfortable 3D on the state-of-the-art autostereoscopic display, without wearing 3D glasses. The latest breakthrough of 2D/3D switchable autostereoscopic display can potentially accelerate the penetration of glasses-free 3D TV in consumer market. However, the lack of 3D content generation for glasses-free 3D display makes the 3D display usage remain low. In this project, we are going to develop the 3D conversion technologies in order to generate 3D contents for different kinds of glasses-free 3D displays. The technologies include image processing algorithms, FPGA implementation and hardware boards. The target markets are advertising, consumer displays and movie production.

隨著裸眼3D自動轉換成像技術的發展,3D體驗效果也變得越來越好。觀眾無需佩戴3D眼鏡,就可以舒適地體驗到超震撼的3D顯示效果。2D自動轉換3D成像顯示技術的突破也加速了3D裸眼電視在消費者市場中的滲透。然而由於裸眼3D顯示中的片源缺乏使得裸眼3D電視的使用率還較低。 為了提供更多的3D片源,本項目針對不衕的裸眼3D顯示,研究了2D片源轉換成3D片源技術。此研究技術包括圖像處理算法,FPGA實現和硬件電路實現三部分。產品可用于廣告片,消費品展示和影視產品。
