    近年来有关食品安全和质量的標准提昇﹐消费者的期许亦水涨船高﹐从而令食品生產企业的利润空间受到挤压。为此﹐市场呼唤小型食品检测器用於食物安全的现场预检及食物生產的质量控制。拉曼光谱技术可直接测定化学组分的特徵谱图而毋需(或仅需少量) 样品预处理﹐其已被广泛用於食物安全和质量的检测﹐如农药残留的预检和酿酒过程的监控等。但一直以来上述应用所使用的拉曼光谱仪必须是体积庞大价格不菲的高端设备﹐否则无法同时满足应用所需的光谱范围 ﹐光谱分辨率﹐和高通光效率。 本项目建议开发一种价格適中的便携式拉曼光谱设备用於食物安全和质量的检测﹐而核心技术在於其采用不同的光学设计如空间外差光谱仪(SHS)和多频光源芯片集成技等去实现食品检测的须求。首先﹐与传统的色散型光谱仪相比﹐空间外差光谱仪具有高通光效率和高光谱分辨率的优点。再者﹐我们將透过不同的光学设计如全反射式的空间外差光谱仪(all reflective SHS), 和通过芯片集成技术附加多频光源, 来实现不同食品安全和质量检测应用所须的光谱范围和降低產品成本。
