In this full project, baseband cores for LTE Terminal and Femto basestation would be developed. Key areas in LTE TDD/FDD Dual Mode Terminal and Femto basestation implementation, such as interference suppression mechanism, advanced cell search, Enhanced channel estimation and unified architecture for TDD/FDD will be explored. Physical layer reference design for LTE TDD/FDD Dual Mode Terminal, physical layer reference design for LTE TDD/FDD Dual mode Femto BTS and core IPs will be delivered as the achievements of this project. This project will have significant impacts and benefits to the local industry. LTE has already been selected by most of operators in the world. LTE FDD network is being deployed in Europe and U.S. LTE TDD demo network is being setup in China. ASTRI has started its LTE relate development since year 2008. Today ASTRI has become a world leader in TD-LTE development. This project would develop world-leading LTE TDD/FDD dual mode baseband cores. It would help ASTRI and Hong Kong to keep its technology leading position in this area and create a competitive edge for local design houses, equipment venders and OEM/ODM manufacturers and help them to have an excellent position in world market.
