At the end of this project, the following reports will be delivered along with the samples which will be made for licensing to potential customers for mass production.
1. Market study including the market status and application targets in Hong Kong and China especially in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region.
2. Technology status and development strategy including IP mapping and development strategy.
3. Worldwide survey/benchmark/report of up-to-date LED outdoor lighting system.
4. Team building including active recruiting of experts and engineers from companies in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and USA to build up the core design competencies.
5. Design documents and the following information:
• Document of electrical design and evaluation result (Soft & Hard Copy)
• Document of optical design and evaluation results (Soft & Hard Copy)
• Document of thermal and structure design (Soft & Hard Copy)
• Flowchart and run card of process integration (Soft & Hard Copy)
• Recommended supplier list
• Molds used in this project

LEDs based outdoor lighting system is commonly recognized in daily life as the traffic signal system. The 'walking green man' formed by tens of green LEDs replaced the traditional bulb with green paint coating on many roads in the cities. More and more LED applications will become reality due to the lumen output keep increasing as the technology of high power LEDs getting matured recently. Based on the prelimanary study of prototype LED based street lamp, we have collect the potential problems on thermal and optical field. This full project project will continue the work to provide more advanced intelligent controlled lighting system by using LED as the light source in different applications such as street lamp, lamps in the park, and factory outdoor lighting lamps etc.
