At the end of this project, functional prototypes and following documentations / reports will be delivered which may be released with the licensing to our customers for their own mass production. Details of the deliverables are shown as below: 1. Functional prototypes: a) Intelligent sensing lighting control SiP module platform and LED lamps, such as LED corridor lamps, streetlamps, or other outdoor lighting fixtures, which can be integrated with the sensing module. b) False alarm immunization algorithm. c) Plug and play adaptation with wireless control network (mesh network). 2. Functional prototypes will be tested with industrial standards 3. Functional prototype demonstration to be showcased in selected site of government department such as the Housing Authority (HA) properties or private company for system evaluation (The exact location will be confirmed later) and subsequent technology promotions. 4. Design documentations and the reports: a) Full report and documentation on the proposed system. b) Performance evaluation report utilizing one of the government department such as Housing Authority properties or a private company. c) Testing reports

Environmental protection has become a critical issue nowadays. Energy saving and green house gas reduction are of utmost concern by the governments and the public. While lighting represents 17.5% of the global electricity consumption, in Hong Kong, according to the data provided by Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), a little less 12% of energy was consumed in lighting. Moreover, inefficient light sources such as HID and/or halogen which generate heat and increase room temperature is commonly used in the luminaries. Thus, a part of the energy consumed in space temperature conditioning is contributed by lighting. To overcome the energy and cost-saving issues, efficient LED light sources are used. In addition, wireless lighting control system is introduced to achieve efficient use of light, such as scheduling and light dimming controls, as well as reducing the installation cost. The wireless lighting control system further provides a wireless network such that the system can be centrally monitored and controlled. The ASTRI’s proposed solution enhances the ability of the existing wireless lighting control system. The wireless module for the existing system can be modified so that microwave transceivers can have added function of occupancy sensing with 55% cost down and 50% size reduction compared with traditional system. Light level is to be controlled by means of occupancy sensing. The proposed solution also emphasizes on the false alarm immunization via a clever firmware design. At the end, this full project will achieve a low cost network solution of a wireless lighting control system with occupancy sensing and increased fault-proof which is endorsed by the Housing Authority for showcasing in some of their housing units.
