As e-books are becoming widely accepted by readers and the publisher industry, there is a strong social motivation (such as cost savings for textbooks) and tremendous business opportunities for educational market to move towards digital content and e-books. Content protection is the major road-block to be addressed in order to prevent the illegal copies being distributed through Internet and enable new and viable business models for publishers to secure revenues. Document Digital Rights Management System and Technologies are thus essential for widespread e-learning and e-book applications. This project aims to provide a secure and scalable Document Digital Rights Management system and cross-platform DRM-enabled e-reader software to help the publishing industry deliver e-books or e-learning material to education market and grasp the emerging market opportunities. This project is a FPFP project as it is an integral part of the e-Learning.
