Recent Cryptographic Biometrics Projects mainly focus on providing improved end-to-end personal identity security in the cloud security computational framework by integrating cryptography into biometrics. Traditional biometrics technology suffers from a major security problem: if a biometrics template used in one application is stolen, and that template may also be used in other applications. Therefore large capital investment is required to secure the storage of biometric templates thus imposing larger cost and limiting their usage. This project aims to develop a cryptographic biometrics security platform that will allow biometrics to be used in cloud applications more securely and with less cost. It will also foster new innovations and applications besides authentication.
