This System on Chip (SoC) development platform project is for developing a CMOS 65nm multimedia Full-HD (High Definition) ASIC platform for the customization of application specific silicon products. It will use the ASTRI enhanced 32-bit Open-RISC Multi-Core Processors with internal CACHE memory, supporting 650 Mhz clock rates and running an embedded operating system (OS). The platform will include highly integrated major multimedia functional blocks of silicon proven video and audio modules, such as multi-standard HD/SD (High Definition and Standard Definition) video/audio codec processor, display control processor, popular industry standard peripherals of USB2.0, Ethernet Interface as well as DDR2 Digital Memory Controller & PHY. It will also include the system level Software Development Kit (SDK) for customers to develop the application software on top of the SoC embedded Linux Operating System and user friendly Android ready firmware.
