Big Data Decision Analytics at CUHK by Prof. Helen Meng
Prof. Helen Meng is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She received all her degrees from MIT and joined CUHK in 1998. She is the Founding Director of the CUHK MoE-Microsoft Key Laboratory for Human-Centric Computing and Interface Technologies and the CUHK Stanley Ho Big Data Decision Analytics Research Center. Prof. Meng’s professional services include former Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language Processing, Chairlady of the Working Party for the Manpower Survey of the Information Technology Sector in Hong Kong, and former memberships in the Research Grants Council and Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee. Helen received the Ministry of Education Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Award in Technological Advancements and CUHK’s Faculty of Engineering Exemplary Teaching Award, Young Researcher Award, and Service Award in previous years. She was elected ISCA Distinguished Lecturer in 2015 and received the Hong Kong Computing Society’s Outstanding ICT Women Award 2015. Prof. Meng is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Computer Society, HKIE and IEEE.
Bamboo- Single Platform of Big Data Analytics by Mr. Jason Tan
Mr. Jason Tan is Director for HP Labs Singapore. He is responsible for driving the research, commercialization and operation of HP Labs Singapore. The Lab currently has 70 engineers in Hong Kong and Singapore, focusing on research on New Style of Business. Mr. Tan is concurrently heading the APJ Solution Center, providing pre-sales supports for APJ customer demo and benchmarking needs. Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Tan was the Business Director for SAP Singapore in the area of Public Service. He had helped elevate SAP’s leadership position in public service and driving national program in the area of smart nation and personalized medicine.
