Job Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy and lead PA function to raise ASTRI’s profile and reputation via external & internal communications activation. Maximise publicity and media coverage for technologies. Lead the team to work in an organised and effective manner, deliver KPI via clear measurement for success.
  • Proactive media outreach and enhance media relations. Deliver measurable organic media results across TV, press, radio, digital media touch points. Primary focus on Hong Kong, expand publicity in regional, GBA and greater China area.
  • Be an effective Spokesperson on ASTRI’s official view internally and externally. Advance ASTRI’s Tech research expert profile, collaborating with influential stakeholders e.g. think tank, campaigning organization, industrial body and consumer group; and the Media.
  • Establish thought leadership profile via online and offline all communications platforms and in collaboration with peers and Tech Development departments.
  • Develop relevant, engaging content and messages to promote brand and Tech capabilities, via news release, articles, presentation, letter to the editor and stakeholders, internal newsletters, townhall communications, etc.
  • Responsible to produce CEO’s speech and scripts to address external functions and conferences. Screen external invitations and recommend appropriate actions. Handles government and official responses, reporting, etc.
  • Safeguard ASTRI’s reputation. Enforce crisis management and compliance. Proactively anticipate and effectively manage/mitigate reputation risks by engaging stakeholders and managing media appropriately; and via internal communications.
  • Collaboration within ASTRI. Align with all functions through inter-departmental meetings. Collaborate across functions and business units to advocate strategic positioning of the company. Ensure PA team’s compliance to ISO policy and adhered to Procurement and Accounting and related processes.
  • Stakeholders management. To establish, maintain and enhance trusted relationship with the CMO, CEO, Board of Directors, ITC as well as quangos, businesses, ecosystem collaborators, marketing & media community and interest groups.
  • Within the PA team to build Trust, Respect and regular effective communication among members across the CMO function. Lead by example, willing to adapt a hands-on approach to ensure robust project management and to personally deliver work in the highest quality standards.
  • Build company culture – to assist ASTRI develop a positive Culture via employees’ engagement, collaborate to jointly advance the company’s reputation and business interests. Create CSR initiatives together with HR function.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects, new initiatives, stretched goals as directed by the CMO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, Business, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, and knowledge in digital and social media.
  • Solid and holistic experience in Media, PR, Communications – including large scale media, corporate communications, internal (employees) communications, government relations, and crisis management.
  • An effective communicator, a highly proficient professional with tracked record leading people and performing well through collaboration with colleagues, stakeholders, ecosystem partners and the media. A strategic minded leader who can assist the CMO deliver the integrated Marketing Communications Strategy.
  • An excellent presenter and public speaker with outstanding communications skills, must be a strong leader, a proactive marketer, active industry outreach, with listening power, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Superb writing and presentation skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin); able to translate and articulate complex information into easy-to-understand consumer benefits and messages and storytelling.
  • Proven consensus building and interpersonal skills. Highly adaptable to reprioritize and shift gears quickly, comfortable in a fast pace environment and be diplomatic, responsive and mature.
  • Exceptionally strong problem-solving skills to handle internal stakeholders and external customers, media and public enquirers.
  • A proactive, confident and action-oriented individual possessing a strong team spirit and ready collaboration.

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical and dental benefits, insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
