Q. What are your motivations for getting into this field of research?
My first contact with deep learning was in graduate school. Since then, I have a deep interest in artificial intelligence. I was curious about the unknown, that intrigued me to work in a related industry, like applied technology research.
Q. What does being a woman in tech today mean to you?
Doing research is more like a one-guy battle. I enjoy the process of exploring the unknown. Overcoming difficulties in my work brings me satisfaction and a boost of self-confidence.
Q. How to stay relevant in the tech industry?
Staying inquisitive, but not limited to paper. Techies need to spend time and effort to verify the validity of scientific research and the possibility of developing it into a commodity. There are similarities between academic research and scientific products, but the latter is more realistic and will encounter more barriers and obstacles.
Q. What are your favourite pastimes outside of work?
I love to exercise!! The sweat and strength help me release stress and excess energy that has nowhere else to go. As a girl, I also love shopping and watching YouTube. Everything beautiful makes me feel good!
