Set up as a new Key Technology Initiative (KTI) of ASTRI, the Exploratory Research Laboratory (ERL) started operation in August 2011. With a mission to perform exploratory research for emerging and interdisciplinary technologies with business potentials, ERL will focus on areas which are not under the purview of other domains and KTIs of ASTRI, and at the same time welcomes and seeks collaborations with ASTRI’s research groups, other R&D centres, universities and industry pioneers. Initial topics include software and system technologies for cloud computing and data analytics.
