ASTRI Seminar on LCD display enhancement control

In the ASTRI Seminar held at the Core Building of Hong Kong Science Park on 20 January, Mr Chiu King-hung, Principal Engineer, IC Designs Group of ASTRI, captured the attention of the enthusiastic attendees by his informative presentation on the topic "LCD Display Enhancement Controller".

Mr Chiu explained in the seminar that his research focused on reducing motion blur effects on LCD TV for fast motion pictures and realizing the algorithm on silicon hardware. The basic idea was to increase frame refresh rate by temporal frame interpolation. Mr Chiu also elaborated on the augment of motion compensated frame interpolation with ASTRI's own dynamic backlight control.

Co-organized with Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, the ASTRI Seminar provides a great opportunity for knowledge sharing between speaker and participants on selected research topics.
