A personal note from the CEO

Dear Friends,

The past two months have been indeed exciting, rewarding and memorable to ASTRI. Allow me to illustrate below our latest successes:

First, after months of detailed planning, collaboration and hard work with the Hong Kong Housing Society, ITC and PolyU, an “iHome”, which was furnished with advanced and user-friendly devices aiming to create a more comfortable lifestyle for senior citizens, was established and opened in Prosperous Garden in Yau Ma Tei.  I am really glad to see that a series of ASTRI’s e-health devices have been installed in the show flat for trial use by visitors. I am convinced that as the concept of smart home and healthy living become more popular, not only the elderly, but more people can take advantages of our innovations to ensure a safe and healthy way of living.

Second, on the international level, ASTRI’s LTE technology was again the focal point at the prestigious Mobile World Congress 2012. ASTRI and its partner Mindspeed Inc. jointly demonstrated the first commercial-grade TD-LTE small cell reference design at the show. ASTRI’s has achieved significant progress in LTE femtocell since the project started in 2008. As TD-LTE has become widely accepted as an international 4G standard, our efforts, no doubt, will further promote the use of this important technology in China and other parts of the world.

Third, ASTRI has been a big winner in this year’s Hong Kong ICT Awards, sweeping no fewer than one Grand , two Gold, one Silver and two Bronze awards. It is particularly worth mentioning that our novel invention in 2D-3D Conversion Platform was awarded both the Grand Award as well as Gold Award in the Best Lifestyle category.

Last but not the least, our 2010/11 Annual Report themed “Sparks of Innovations” was awarded the Platinum and Gold Award in two different categories of an international annual report competition organized by League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) in the US.

In extending my warmest congratulations and heartfelt appreciation to all the colleagues for their respective outstanding achievements, I am certain that these recent successes will spur all of us at ASTRI to strive for further excellence in the future.
