MPT’s LED technologies focus on the next generation lighting and display solutions using light emitting diodes (LED), extending from chip, packaging, lamps and control, display to projector. To accelerate penetration of LED into the multibillion dollar lighting and display markets, the issues of luminance efficacy enhancement, cost reduction and thermal dissipation have to be resolved simultaneously. Addressing these issues, MPT has built a strong patent portfolio by filing 89 US patents in LED technologies, which have been successfully licensed to 39 companies in Hong Kong and the Mainland via 49 technology transfers by 2010, illustrating the actualization of innovations to industry.
