High Speed Digital Pathology System

The High Speed Digital Pathology System (HSDP) project aims to design and realize a hardware/software integrated platform for high speed digitization of clinical pathology slides with an affordable installation and operation cost. After analyzing current market available pathology slide scanning products, we will focus on issues which limit their performance (e.g. low speed, high cost, reliability et al). We hope with ASTRI technical expertise, we can improve the current system design to speed up the scanning process to close to 1 minute per slide without sacrificing the image quality. Moreover, we will develop software to better manage the large image files for archiving and retrieval, to improve pathologists’ viewing experience and facilitate them for faster and more accurate diagnosis.
