ERL builds group portal for scouts

Engineers of the Exploratory Research Laboratory (ERL) have recently established a web platform to enable more than 200 scout groups in Hong Kong to create their group websites with ease.

In the Scout Tech Day held at the Headquarters of Hong Kong Scout Association on 19 May, Dr Albert Au Yeung, Senior Engineer, Scientific Software, ERL, presented the portal to more than 100 scout leaders, sparking off enthusiastic responses. Professor Wong Kam-fai, Chairman of Scout Association’s ICT Advisory Committee, thanked ASTRI’s contributions in his welcome remarks.

ERL engineers under the supervision of Director Dr Lo Tak-sing took about one month to build the Scout Group Portal, which is expected to enhance communication among tens of thousands of local scouts. ASTRI will also provide storage space, backup and maintenance support to the scout users.
