The replacement of
existing traditional light source by LEDs can provide energy
savings, long life-time, and environmental-friendly solutions
for various illumination applications. In order to accelerate
LED to penetrate into this multi-billion lighting market,
issues of luminance efficacy enhancement, cost reduction,
and thermal dissipation have to be resolved simultaneously.
The LED division has been generating tens of IP to overcome
technological barriers to achieve low cost, low power consumption,
long service life, and rapid thermal dissipations. Our continuous
effort accelerates the possibility of applications of LEDs,
such as TV backlight, general lighting, automotive head lamps
and projector lamps, etc.
Nowadays, device material technologies are the foundations
for technological advances in the electronic and optoelectronic
industry. The technologies utilize the fundamental makeup
to manipulate the structures and properties of substances
creating new and sometimes disruptive functionalities in various
products, devices and components. Energy storage devices with
two-fold storage capacity using nano material technology,
low-cost electric write-once-memory (EWOM) using innovative
inorganic materials, and material and structural innovations
of fast air-solid heat exchange performance are the three
major developments in ASTRI.
