The group builds upon
ASTRI's existing base in photonics research and has expanded
its scope to develop applications that are promising for Hong
Kong or PRD in areas such as next-generation solid state lighting,
electronic packaging, photonic devices, energy storage devices,
advanced displays and components, etc. Building up the material
and packaging technology platforms will continuously spawn
new and competitive applications for the long term. The objective
of the program is to lay the foundation for Hong Kong or PRD
to become a major center for the design and manufacturing
of next-generation devices and the key components in the ICT
industries of the Greater China.
