home media networking, portable media, multimedia communications,

Electronic manufacturers in Hong Kong, PRD and the Greater
China have served as the world's low-cost factory in recent
years; producing a wide variety of products for the consumer
electronics, mobile and personal computer and peripherals
industries. With China's entry into the World Trade Organization,
many discriminatory rules that had protected local producers
from foreign competition have been removed. As these import
barriers and tariffs are reduced and China's domestic market
becomes liberalized, competition of the lucrative domestic
markets is expected to intensify over the next few years,
for foreign companies will increasingly be able to offer attractive
foreign-brand wireless and consumer electronic products at
affordable prices.
The mission of ASTRI's Enterprise & Consumer Electronics
Group is to create and expand Hong Kong owned core intellectual
property for multimedia over IP technology, and networked
consumer electronics and applications. This will enhance the
competitiveness of local industries, help the local industries
move up the value chain, and capture future jobs and business
growth opportunities presented by the newly emerging worldwide
