RFIC-Multi-mode Mobile TV Tuner

Digital TV has been claimed to be the most important technology paradigm shift in the first two decades of Year 2000. Digital TV content can be delivered to end users via digital cable, terrestrial or satellite technologies. Domestic DTV set, DTV receiver for personal computers, DTV function enabled cell phone and PMP and digital set top box are key consumer electronic products to end-users. ASTRI is developing multi-mode tuner at VHF, UHF and S-band to support China CMMB, China DMMB, Korea T-DMB and Europe DVB-H standards. It mainly targets at mobile digital TV applications. It uses advanced direct conversion architecture and implemented in 0.13um RF CMOS technology. Small chip size, low power consumption and high sensitivity are important objectives of this multimode tuner development. Following is the block diagram of the multimode tuner.
