RFIC-CWPAN/ZigBee

ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 has defined a communication network that is simple and extremely low-cost, it allows wireless connectivity in applications with limited power consumption, it has relaxed throughput requirements (250kbps) and is easy to install. ZigBee has very wide applications like wireless sensor network, industry control, building automation, residential/lighting control, etc. ZigBee works at ISM band 2.4 GHz and 868/915 MHz in Europe and US, respectively. China has proposed her own low rate WPAN standard (CWPAN) with different physical layer at 780 MHz band in Feb 2007. ASTRI is developing reconfigurable RFIC transceiver which can be used by China WPAN standard as well as international ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 standard; it is implemented in 0.18um RF CMOS technology.
