Antenna Solutions

The form factors of a wireless device and the embedded RF systems have a very large effect on the requirements of optimal mobile device antennas.

Based on our broad experiences on R&D programs, we have a thorough understanding of the antenna of modern mobile terminals, including the challenges of integration in a multi-radio environment.

Our antenna offering is based on well-proven antenna solutions which secure an optimal antenna for each application and form factor.

Active Antenna for Mobile Phone

An active antenna may use a switching circuit to physically control the parts of the antenna. Such is called a "reconfigurable antenna".

ASTRI uses a low-power and low-profile switch to reconfigure the antenna, changing the resonant frequency while maintaining similar efficiency and bandwidth. Using this method, we can design a compact antenna suitable for multiple wireless networks without any increase in size.

Smart Antenna for Wireless Devices (WiFi/WiMax)

High-speed wireless networking solutions using MIMO and Beam-forming Antenna Technologies benefits the consumer in the digital home, enabling next generation speed and range to easily handle emerging, bandwidth-intensive applications, including high definition (HD) signals and on-line gaming.

Beam-forming, a technique to directionally focus the wireless signal at an angle towards the intended client. As opposed to a Omni-directional wireless transmission that generally propagates to the same range in all directions, beam-forming will allow the signal to focus towards the target device recipient and allow the signal to propagate further ranges in that direction.

On the receive side, the highest combined strength for maximum throughput of the incoming signals can be achieved with MIMO antenna technology in addition to advanced signal processing.

From notebook computers and access points to mobile phones, ASTRI has the smart antennas solution to fit into these devices including onto small form factor such as Ultra thin USB dongle.

Passive Antenna for Cellular application

ASTRI passive internal cellular antennas are available in a wide variety of frequencies, making them suitable for GSM, PCS, DCS, WCDMA, HSDPA, PHS and other cellular applications.

Our antennas feature from one to five bands on a single element, and are frequently custom-designed to meet the high performance requirements and unique mechanical constraints.

ASTRI passive cellular antennas are successfully used in a wide range of mobile phones, notebook computers, industrial handhelds, PC cards and point-of-sale terminals.

Mobile TV Antenna

Implementing mobile TV in handsets raises major antenna design challenges including interference from overlapping frequencies including GSM.

A problem with a traditional antenna design approach for low frequencies such as the VHF band is that the antenna required is longer than the handset. Some recently launched mobile TV handset for example uses the headphone cable as the antenna, rendering the device useless without the headphones.

By using the patented antenna technologies, ASTRI offer fully customized internal antenna solution for VHF, UHF and L-bands that offer simple integration into a device and an excellent level of performance in terms of gain and efficiency.

Our solution provides design flexibility for various types of mobile devices such as Personal Media Player, PDAs, handset and Ultra Mobile PC and many more.

Directional Planar Antenna for WiFi Base Station

ASTRI’s Sector Directional Antennas provide 12, and 15 dBi gains with a wide beam-width and small size factor due to innovative RF circuitry.

These base station antennas are designed primarily for cell and microcell applications service providers using the 2.4 GHz ISM band.
